Jeepers was the best horror thing I saw in 2001 in the theatre, then I again I don't remember much of the horror offering that year. It was a kinda piss poor year. Jeepers isn't a great movie by any means, however, it did have a few kick-ass moments and a great opening. The shitty down beat ending was great, though kinda corny. The great failure here is the lack of information given on what the hell that thing was. Demon, devil, alien, mutant, what was that thing? Whatever it was, it drives fast, flys faster, and has a taste for human flesh. There are a few silly plot elements involved here, but the good far outweighs the bad. Creepers combines slasher and monster movie elements pretty good and has a few nasties thrown in along the way. Gina Phillips needed to remove some clothing though 'cause she's nice to look at. She can't drive for shit, but you know what they say,' Women drivers, No survivors.' Just ask her brother. Jeepers Creepers just misses being a real classic by a little teeny bit. It needed to give us just a little more to gnaw on, the villain had enough. Not too shabby for a flick aimed at the mainstream crowd, but real horror fans will want a better sequel. Won't we?
