A well-liked college professor quits after ten years of teaching at a University, telling his friends and colleagues that he's the type to not stay put in one place. He intends to leave quietly in the night but his friends show up at his house to have a going away meeting. They start talking and he ends up revealing to them that he's over fifteen-thousand years old. Of course, they don't believe him at first but as the movie progresses it becomes evident that he's telling the truth. It's a brilliant character study of an immortal and how his friends react to his revelations. This is a great ensemble film, which includes Tony Todd (CANDYMAN), John Billingsley (ENTERPRISE), and William Katt (CARRIE, GREATEST AMERICAN HERO). A lot of credit has to be given to actor David Lee Smith as John (the 15,000 year-old man) whose performance truly carries the movie.
