This holds well to the standards of the first season, as well as JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA. Lex Luthor is determined to resurrect the living computer Brainiac but is recruited by Gorilla Grodd (from a race of intelligent gorillas) to join his Legion of Supervillains. Grodd has an agenda - and what it turns out to be is that he wants to transform everyone into apes. When Luthor is changed, he is still bald, of course. Yet the real supervillain turns out to be non other than Darkseid (first seen in THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN). If you're a fan of superheroes and haven't had a chance to watch JLA or JLA: Unlimited, I highly recommend you catch up on these dvd sets. This is not your childhood "Superfriends".
