Kid makes up, to me anyways, the final of what I consider the 'Big Three' Shaw Bros. 'Venoms' films. Along with Five Deadly Venoms and Super Ninjas, Kid with the Golden Arm has that same wild plot, great action, and unforgettable characters that these movies came to be known for. A drunken police constable is out to stop Golden Arm and his gang. A shipment of gold must get through and the gang is sure to try and grab it along the way. What a gang it is my friends, Golden Arm has impenetrable skin on his arms, fighting even swordsman without a care. The Silver Spear uses his deadly silver spear (of course) to kill his enemies. The Iron Robe has a robe with iron plating built in and uses metal fans to take out opponents. The oddest guy is the brass head who uses a big ole brass helmet to crush foes. At the end, a secret fighter named Iron Feet is revealed who is out to kill and take over the gang. Luckily, we have some brave people out to help guard the gold on its journey. A drunk, a feuding couple, and a few ragged guards are suppose to stop the gang? Good thing Long Axe and Short Axe come along to help out and the drunk is really a drunken master. One by one, they manage to kill off each gangster by the end. Then comes that wacky twist ending, I always loved that. Great film and definitely one of the best ' Vemons' and Shaw Bros. Movies from the 70's. If you haven't seen it and are a fan of Chang Cheh's other movies, you need to watch this also.
