Mario Bava put out a great film here folks, so track down a copy and enjoy it! His usual great style takes on a gothic atmosphere & feel in this ghost story. This movie is genuinely creepy. The end in which you find out the real truth only makes it more so. Some really cool ideas are explored here in terms of what would cause a restless spirit. Don't let the the dubbing bother you, the film is easy to look at. So are many of the ladies Bava chose for the main roles as well. I liked the lightning in this movie & the way it was used to add a creepy tone in the film. Kinda dumb shit like that I notice sometimes & with some directors. Don't let the 1966 date scare ya, it holds up well today and being set in the 19th century makes it a ghost story for the ages.
