Emma quits her high paying job on Wall Street to move back to England with her son, Thomas, and her new husband, Henri. He surprises her by showing her a huge old house which he had purchased several years before. He tells her it's their new home.
But soon Emma starts having violent visions and she believes that something awful had occurred there in the past. She keeps on asking Henri why he purchased the house and he can only give her vague answers. As her nightmares and frights continue Henri's actions become more suspect since he keeps on telling her he's going to France for business trips but is really not even leaving the country. In fact, his company is floundering and he's desperate to borrow money. He knows that Emma has a trust worth millions of dollars and with her questionable state of mind it looks like he may soon have access to it....
This is a very different sort of movie for director Anthony Hickox, whose movies from the WAXWORK films to HELLRAISER 3 and FULL ECLIPSE were more in your face type of monster flicks. KNIFE EDGE is definitely a throwback to moody 70's horror and at times I really felt as if I was watching a Fulci film. It has that weird vibe to it. However, I really thought the lead actress rather homely so it was a bit of a chore to watch her in most every scene.
