This Animal Planet original was about an hour too long. It starts off with explaining how early man had to deal with predators-and how after the last ice age how modern man migrated out of Africa to other parts of the world to encounter dangerous creatures he had never seen before. There's this giant twenty-foot long lizard that terrorized the aborigines in Australia 40,000 years ago, the largest reptile man had ever co-existed with. Then there's the short-faced bear, the sabre-toothed tiger and a giant eagle from New Zealand. The re-creations and computer animation are well executed but the first half of the movie seems a rerun if you've seen the other prehistoric shows that have aired on AP or Discovery Channel.
