In THE THIEF Kevin thinks that Stink, the Pakune, keeps on trashing the tree house and stealing stuff, as it looks like he's the culprit. But he soon discovers otherwise--and Stink ends up saving his life. Kevin has a crush on the cavewoman Christa and makes her a necklace of jewels he found, but ends up giving it as a gift to Stink for saving him.
In POWER PLAY the father, Tom Porter, is looking for a new source of power, like the crystals the Sleestak have, and ends up getting trapped in a cavern with Shung, leader of the lizard men. He has to figure out how to get out alive. As with the other episodes featuring these new Sleestak the costume is so goofy/rubbery looking that it doesn't work. Unlike the original LAND OF THE LOST series (1974) these Steestak are the weak point of the show.
In a side note, I just found out that a feature film (slated for release Summer 2009) is being made based on LAND OF THE LOST, featuring Will Ferrel as Ranger Rick Marshall. That should be entertaining. I just hope they get the Sleestak right.
