A worldwide spanning virus spreads that makes people agoraphobic. They don't want to leave the buildings they work or live in. In fact, if someone tries to venture in the open they'll die of a heart attack. Marc is in his office building when it happens to him and now, months later, they are running out of food. He also wants to reunite with his pregnant girlfriend, Julia. Since communications are out he has no idea how she is or if she's even alive. So he and a co-worker join forces and make their way--underground--through the city.
THE LAST DAYS is a bit like THE HAPPENING, in that it's probably the planet that's causing humans to die off, yet it's pulled off far better. I also liked the "I AM LEGEND" type ending. This is an excellent "End of the World" movie.
