Wes Craven's seminal 1972 classic has recently seen a new digitally remastered re-release by MGM Home Video. This classic movie, about two young teens that are kidnapped and terrorized by a trio of thugs and later annihilated by their parents, remains an inspiration to no-budget moviemakers and fans alike, thirty years later! Craven's documentary approach, the twisted humor, and psycho performance from lead baddie David A. Hess make this one a must-see for any horror buff. And if you're a filmmaker, it's all the more inspiring seeing how Craven started out, knowing how he made out in the future! While some scenes are offensive and torturous, the brutality is offset by bizarre humor (featuring inept cops and parents baking a birthday cake for their daughter), so everything balances out in the end. If you haven't experienced this film, do so!
