Vince Diesel portrays Kaulder, a witch hunter who has his origins in the Middle Ages. When we're first introduced he's with a group of fellow hunters invading the Witch Queen's giant tree home. His motivations are revenge, because the witches killed his wife and child. He does manage to slay the withered, mummy-looking crone but not before she curses him with life. Then, the movie skips to the present day, where he's interacting with a modern day witch on an airplane. We subsequently learn that he's been responsible for keeping the peace between witches and humans. Of course, things change-and there are witches who are trying to resurrect the Witch Queen and Kaulder has to stop her. Along the way he becomes allies with a red-headed good witch, Chloe (GAME OF THRONE'S Rose Leslie, who is a "seer". Together they have to track down the evil witches and stop the queen from being resurrected.
There's really nothing special about this movie. It vaguely reminded me of HIGHLANDER crossed with John Carpenter's VAMPIRES. There's lot of CGI special effects which try to distract you from the paint-by-the-numbers action script.
