A group of medical students area working on a way to extend bringing people back from the dead. What they discover is a way to bring the dead back to life. At first, this is with a dog, which begins acting peculiar, and then one of their own. This happens after the dean of the University discovers what they are doing and shuts down the project. Zoe, the girlfriend (Olivia Wilde) of the main guy, Frank (Mark Duplass) is killed and is brought back. But she has a very horrible, nightmarish experience-and comes back as a very different person that poses a danger to them all.
This is basically a remake of FLATLINERS, though not quite as engaging.
