Of course, with a twenty-year later sequel all you can really hope for is that it doesn't suck too bad--and THE TRIBE manages to do this.
As a true dvd sequel it has all the elements of the original except for most of the cast.
There's a scene where a vampire is impaled on deer antlers, a scene where people are attacked at a beach campfire and, of course, the LOST BOYS themselves, who are an odd mix, with the obligatory African-American included.
One of the best things in the movie is the Edgar Frog character (Corey Feldman) and I wish he had a bit more screen time.
I like how the vampires look and how they are dispatched but what I missed was all that flying that was in the first movie, which went along well with the Peter Pan/Lost Boys idea. Here we only see them flying at the very end and it makes you wonder "Why weren't they doing that earlier?". Also, both alternative endings are better than the ending they decided to use for the movie and can only guess why they chose the ending they did (Corey Haim!).
