This is not one of the better of the 'Return of Satan' type of movie. Wynona Ryder (well, that's the first strike against this film!) is a helper to a group of priests who excorcise people. Years before the same group had helped her with her inner demons. But an excorcism she's participating in goes awry and the priest's (John Hurt) mind is shut down and the possessed in a coma. She figures out, through notes of the posssessed man, that Satan will soon take over the body of the Anti-Christ-and that this man is a well-known author living in NYC. She goes to warn him (Ben Chapman) so that this will not happen. Of course he doesn't believe her-and it's back and forth until the end whether or not he's really going to turn into the devil. The ending did surprise me in its outcome but the entire movie was so unengaging that it didn't make a difference.
