As an 'end of the world' movie, this is decent enough, with a great performance by Michael York as 'The Anti-Christ' (though he's never referred to as that). The movie centers around two brothers, Stone Alexander and David Alexander. When Stone is seven-years-old he tries to kill his newborn brother, blaming him for the death of their mother. But he's caught by the nanny just in time and his father (David Heddison of VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA) sends him off to a European military academy run by Franco Nero. There, he grows up and eventually becomes leader of the European Union and then leader of most of the world. Michael Biehn portrays the adult David Alexander, who is vice-president and then President. In the end he must confront his brother and stop him. The movie is well cast, with R. Lee Ermey as President Benson and Diane Venora (WOLFEN,FX) as Stone's wife. OMEN III: THE FINAL CONFLICT is a far better picture. The irritating part about MEGIDDO is that it's a Faith Movements TBN Production, 'Christian' film, and there's this goofy prologue by 'religious experts' who direly tell us that the Apocalypse is indeed coming soon and that we should carefully watch the following movie. Even from a bible quoting standpoint most of the movie is made up! Also, the Europeans and rest of the world are seen as the bad guys, the USA are the good and the American President ultimately ends up being the savior. Fiction yes indeed. Directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith (LEPRECHAUN 3 & 4, NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2, ATOMIC DOG)
