Merlin's Apprentice (2005)

This sequel to Hallmark's MERLIN, starring Sam Neill as the magician, is a disappointment. There are fewer special effects, a depressing story about the fall of Camelot and a group of unlikable characters, which include Merlin's son, who is also his apprentice. Miranda Richardson is also in the movie but portrays the Lady of the Lake rather than villainous Morgan LeFay. There is a horrific scene in which some knights are dragged underwater and eaten by some type of serpent-like creature but we're never shown what it is. If you liked the first MERLIN movie you will be sorely disappointed if you see this lackluster event.
