Who would have guessed that someone as attractive as Charlize Theron could pull off playing a homely looking, white trash hooking, female serial killer? She shows her acting range in this disturbing flick based on the life of Aileen Wuornos, America's most famed female serial murderer. She portrays the killer so well, that you almost feel sorry for her and understand how the life she led could take her to the brink of insanity. While selling her body to make ends meet, she befriends a lesbian girl who were both craving attention and someone with whom to share their miserable existence. With delusional aspirations of a story book life together, the two ladies take on life. Unable to sustain any kindof decent life without the money she makes from prostitution, Aileen continues to sell her body and soul for a little cash here and there. After being beaten and raped by one of the 'John's', she manages to fend off the attacker and kills him in the process. This spirals into a spree of killing and robbing the very men who seek to degrade her. As her kill numbers start to pile up, its only a matter of time before she will get caught. A well done movie, one that makes you feel sorry for the killer as well as some of the victims. This one does the story justice.
