Great title, crappy movie. This came out towards the end of the 80's Slasher craze-and it shows. The premise is that this old lady is released from a mental institution and goes back to running her cheap motel, which are really these several small white cabins. She rents them out for $7-and then when the people are asleep she crawls through these tunnels and up the trap doors that are located in each cabin-letting loose snakes, rats and cockroaches to mess with the customers. There's no good reason that she does this other than that she's crazier than a bat. One rainy night, when all the cabins are booked, she goes on a killing spree with this metal hook. The special effects are mostly after the fact. We see her swinging the hook-then see the hook through someone's face, which really looks like a mediocre makeup effect. One of the characters gets a poisonous snake bite on his cheek and rather than dying within a few hours just moans while the bite gets larger and more infected looking. The wound is almost half the guy's face by the time he's killed by the crazy lady.I guess the screenwriter didn't do his research on snake bites....but that's a small qualm compared to the rest of this mess.
