This is one intense movie. A man (Terek Puckett), who practices self-mutilation (which is shown in gruesome closeup), wanders a strange surreal wasteland where he continually sees acts of depravity and cannibalism. This is interspersed with flashbacks from the man's childhood, when he was abused by his evil father, portrayed by Jim Van Bebber. You see, this is the man's private journey into madness and we're along for the emotional ride. This is an extremely well-done character study, told virtually without any dialogue in the film's 90 minute. And although incredibly gorey, the gore is integral to telling the tale--it's not just there for window dressing. Who says splatter films can't be deep?
