I've always been curious about this movie, as it's an adaptation of Jules Verne's MYSTERIOUS ISLAND. Well, it's an extremely loose adaptation of that novel and I really lame movie to boot.
The premise is that a young man wants to travel the world before he marries his girlfriend, so his rich uncle (Peter Cushing, who is in the movie for five minutes) sends him on an exploration ship, which is soon boarded by lame ass looking amphibian monsters and then explodes, leaving the guy stranded on a weird volcanic island with another survivor. He encounters some very stupid looking dinosaur like creatures and giant insects and meets a few other people. Then there are these pirates who show up, led by Terrence Stamp (SUPERMAN II), who is in the movie for five minutes, like Peter Cushing. The ending is truly unlikely and unbelievable and succeeds in making the movie a complete waste of time.
Oh, and Paul Naschy is in the movie for the first five minutes.
