Joey is a ten-year-old boy who returns home after two years of attending a school for "problem children". His overly emotional mother doesn't want to pick him up so the father takes his Nanny (Bette Davis) instead. The boy hates her for some reason and does not trust her. In fact, he refuses to eat any food she makes and locks the doors behind him. He thinks that she will try to kill him. Why? Because the death of his younger sister. The parents blamed him for her drowning in the bathtub but he adamantly believes the Nanny killed her.
This is one of those movies where you go back and forth deciding who is crazier--the kid or this old lady. It's a very well structured, creepy movie from Hammer. Recommended.
