The movie starts off with Barbara and her brother at the graveyard, though it happens a little bit differently. She flees from the zombies and ends up in the nearby mortuary, run by Sid Haig, who is trying to kill some zombies and tells her he'll take care of it. She wanders some more and is rescued at night by a guy on a motorcycle. His name is Ben and he's a white college student who sells pot to pay for his college tuition. He takes her to the Cooper Farm, where the pot is grown, and the zombies attack. There are no boarded up window, no sense that these weak-ass zombies can do any harm. And what the hell were the filmmakers thinking in having the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD playing on the television during one of the scenes. There's lots of talking interspersed with some shot that would probably be a good 3-D effect but since I'm watching the 2-D version it's only irritating (and where can you see the 3-D version). The only good thing in the movie is Sid Haig, who always portrays a great crazy person. His explanation of the zombie invasion is interesting, though not quite what I expected. And because the title is in the public domain the filmmakers didn't even credit George Romero, though the whole thing is based on his and John Russo's script!
This abomination is worse than DAY OF THE DEAD 2 and the last two RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD movies combined. What the crap were these guys thinking?
