The movie that introduced the character of Carl Kolchak still holds up after thirty years. Women are being drained of blood in Las Vegas and our intrepid reporter discovers that it may be the work of a...vampire. But just when we think the villain is the genuine thing we're led to believe he's just a serial killer...and then our beliefs are changed back again. The Richard Matheson script (based on story by Jeff Rice) has plenty of suspense, hissing vampires and quirky characters. Highly recommended. For those of you in need of a NIGHT STALKER fix check out the interview with Moonstone comics here on www.buried.com--they're continuing the adventures of Kolchak in comic book form.
