(Fright Flix, directed by Nick Palumbo) This movie is how a serial killer flick should be--that is, told entirely from the point-of-view o the serial killer...and done with relentlessness. Although not as dread-filled at HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, probably because of the stop and go installment type structure of the movie, actor Max Hail successfully portrays a demented individual who feels he must kill all the whores in Las Vegas. You see, he was interested in a girl in high school, she rejected him and he subsequently cut off her face. We learn of the serial killer's thoughts when he talks out loud to his best friend, a pet tarantula named Heinrich. These killings are very brutal, mostly stabbings and slicings with knives. Plus, there's a surprising amount of full-frontal nudity by some A+ chicks (who get killed). I felt like I was watching a diary of a serial killer. Best of all, there are no cops or detective characters hot on his trail, a really bad cliche in recent serial killer movies. NUTBAG is blood good!
