When the movie begins, it's as if we're watching the middle of a movie. A guy is at a bowling alley and weird things begin to happen, such as a ball rolling backwards down a lane. And there's glowing-eyed zombies. A girl appears and informs him they are under psychic attack--and then we find out this is all a trailer to a new movie, "Dark Sky: The Third Wave". The premiere is being shown on an internet webcast, which is in turn being recorded by a guy, Nick (Elijah Wood) who has a fan blog for that actress, whose name is Jill Goddard. He's won a contest where he gets dinner with the actress and is waiting in his hotel room, watching this all on the internet. But then he gets an email/voice mail from some guy who tells him the dinner has been cancelled. This same mystery person has hacked into his computer--and Goddard's cell phone--so our main character/voyeur can see and hear her private conversations. This all culminates with the kidnapping of the actress and a live webcast of her tied to a chair.
This is an interesting movie in that it's told entirely from the perspective of what's happening on a computer screen. The ending is unexpected, if convoluted, but OPEN WINDOW is worth checking out.
