Samuel North has returned home after college, wanting to be with his girlfriend (Jamie Alexander). Yet she never meets him that night, which gets him worrying, until his car is sideswiped by a van and he's killed. He goes to Hell but soon escapes with some other guys, several who had escaped before. But Hell has sent three Reapers to bring them back to the netherworld, creatures who can reanimate and take possession of corpses. So, if one is killed it just takes control of another body.
Sam soon discovers that his missing girlfriend was murdered and he goes to find out whose responsible. Two of the other escapees agree to help him so they can redeem themselves and possibly go to heaven the next time they die. In the end we find out why he was killed, why she was killed and why, exactly, he ended up in Hell in the first place.
THE OTHER SIDE is a well-edited, attention grabbing horror film.
