This is a modern day take on THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, with the setting being the New York City fashion industry scene in the 1980's. Dorian is a male model on his way to stardom who loses his humanity in the process. The instigator is his agent, Malcolm McDowell, who I think is supposed to be the devil. As Dorian becomes more successful this large photograph of him takes on his sins-and starts to deteriorate in the process. His picture looks absolutely horrendous by the end of the movie.I found this the weakest version of the novel I've seen, primarily because of the bad acting and the weird twist of Dorian being manipulated by an outside force. It takes away from his responsibility too much. The 80's television movie, THE SINS OF DORIAN GRAY, which featured a female Dorian as a model, is much much better, so check that out if you can find it.
