This Lifetime movie, based on the V.C. Andrews novel, takes place about a decade after FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC. Brother and sister Christopher and Cathy Dollanganger and their younger sister now have a fairly normal life. After running away from their crazy mother (Heather Graham) and grandmother (Ellen Burstyn) they were adopted by a doctor and were well cared for. Christopher went to medical school and is a doctor. But the two still have feelings for one another. And to further complicate matters, the youngest sister begins to have feelings for her older brother. Cathy has a need to confront her mother--and manages to get a suitable revenge, though it makes her almost as bad as her.
It's all very melodramatic BUT it is very entertaining. Heather Graham is great at portraying a crazy person and Ellen Burstyn (THE EXORCIST) is suitably decrepit as the grandmother. Recommended.
