Cool title. The third installment impressed me by bringing back the original cast. Reggie's been there for all four, but the other's skipped part two for some reason. Lord of the Dead finds Mike and Reg on the road hunting that Tall Man. Jody returns, he now imprisoned in a sphere helps the best he can. Our friends get split early on and it's up to Reggie to drive that Hemi 'Cuda to the rescue. This film offers a bit more humor and leans toward action more than the others. Reg meets up with a bad-ass kid who's been orphaned thanks to our tall friend. You've got to love the way the kid kills off the would-be thieves that enter his home. The razor blade Frisbee is a scream and popping that bitch in the head with a tomahawk had me rolling. A nunchuck swingin' black chick named Rocky joins Reg and the kid to find Mike. Rocky's just say no policy toward Reggie's vanilla creamsicle makes for some funny scenes. Things are tough though for our heroes, the Tall Man's still got the balls that'll kill ya. He's created zombies and new forms of the sphere to aid him as well. None of these movies are as good as the first, this one equals the second for sure though. Lots of action, gore, and the coolest weapons of any villain (not to mention the baddest car ever in any film series) make Phantasm the Third an excellent film. This might be the most 'fun' film of the series. Still, the Tall Man does get his hands on Mike in the end and Reggie's pressed balls to the wall...Boy!
