One day every child on Earth, nine years old or younger, becomes catatonic. Then, ten years later, they all wake up-"in a very bad mood", as one of the characters says.
The first half is one of the best "zombie" movies I've seen in years. It's creepy, violent and uncompromising. Then, instead of escalating and coming to a satisfying conclusion, the movie veers in an entirely different direction and becomes somewhat vague with religious overtones and a heavy-handed "message" that simply doesn't work.
It's an interesting movie but not entirely satisfying.
