I don't buy into all the shit most folks say about this film. I always read and hear mainstream reviews calling this the worst film ever made and how bad it sucks. Well, having seen some of the recent releases and shot on video crap around now, this definitely isn't the worst film ever made people. It has its own charm and is entertainingly fun to watch. Tor Johnson makes one of the creepier zombies to ever stumble around on screen and Vampira looks very sexy creeping around, even though she possess a pair of huge fuckin' hands for a chick. Bela Lugosi made his final screen appearance in here and died before films end, which causes the use of a double for a good many scenes. Hey, that's gotta be of some historical importance, hasn't it? I'm not sure what happened to plans 1-8, but nine doesn't get the job done as far as taking over the earth either. The aliens honestly seem to have a valid reason for doing what they do and this film moves along at a good pace. Criswell delivers some fun dialog both at the beginning and during, while our undead friends are used to help in the alien's cause. The costumes the aliens wear reminded me more of medieval times than space, but that's what makes Nine so much fun. You can laugh and sit back and enjoy the whole thing without thinking too deeply. Forget all the crap you have heard and just enjoy this piece of cinematic history for what it is...schlocky good fun.
