An astronaut, Captain Chuck Baker (voice of Dwayne Johnson) lands on Planet 51 believing he's the first to set food on it. But after he plants the American flag he looks around and sees he's in the middle of the suburbs--alien suburbs complete with green aliens. The main alien characters are Lem (Justin Long) and the girl he's interested in, Neera (Jessica Biel). They befriend the astronaut but the alien society is terrified this will be the onset of an invasion...
This is a fun spoof of alien invasion movies that pokes fun at everything from 50's invasion movies to the cold war to ALIEN and STAR WARS. I particularly like the alien dog, which looks just like a canine ALIEN that even urinates acid. Likewise, the rover module that acts like a dog is equally entertaining.
