Bo Svenson stars as Professor Etheridge , who teaches at a Florida University and has developed a synthetic protein which may indeed repair damaged brain cell tissue. We see him experimenting on a baboon at the beginning (a very fake looking animatronic baboon) and this primate escapes when a college student breaks into the lab and inadvertently frees him from his cage. But not before he bites the guy, which has dire consequences. That new protein is now coursing through his veins and soon he'll become a raging beast. Sam Nash (actor Patrick Lowe), another student who happens to be this guy's roommate, turns out to be the hero of the flick. PRIMAL RAGE kind of reminds me of a bad version of Cronenberg's RABID. With special effects by Carlo Rambaldi (KING KONG 1976). Directed by Vittorio Rambaldi
