This is as bad a sequel as part II was a great one. It begins with a nun-in-training, Maureen, who flees the convent after she accidently causes the death of the Mother Superior. She hitches a ride from a creepy musician. Duane (Jeff Fahey in a very early role), the guy tries to make out with her, she freaks out and leaves in the middle of a rainstorm. Of course, they all end up at the Bates Motel. Norman hires the musician as the temporary assistant manager and the woman, who reminds Norman of a very certain woman in the shower, takes a liking to her. It's been several months since part II and Norman is back to being crazy, hearing the voice of his mother. Through a reporter, we learn that Mrs. Emma Spool really is not Norman's mother, just his crazy Aunt, who tried kidnapping him when he was a baby. Norman is caught, ends up in the back of the police car, only holding the preserved hand of his "mother".
If you're a fan of either the original PSYCHO movie or the television series, BATES MOTEL, you'll be very disappointed by this film. Not recommended.
