Writer/Director Brett Piper's new movie is one of his best. A group of friends, two guys and two girls, watch an old videotape of a film transfer-which says to be from 1876, way before the film camera was invented. This footage shows the scientist operating a machine that can open dimensions-and by doing so lets in these foot long, ant-like creatures which attack him. Curious about this, they look up the inventor-and find that he has a descendent in town, a woman who practices witchcraft. One of the group, nicknamed 'Shemp' (Piper is a THREE STOOGES FAN)is obsessed with videotaping everything, wanting to make the world's longest movie. Shemp eventually uncovers the scientists invention-and tries it out. What it does is graft his videocamera onto his head so that he looks like a video-Borg. There's also those insect creatures that emerge-they burrow into his body, make way into his brain and make him crazy. It also reanimates the bodies of some corpses (a la NIGHT OF THE CREEPS). So now Shemp goes to capture one of his women friends, who he's always had a crush on, and tries to transform her with the contraption. Will her two other friends save her? Will the once-likable Shemp transform back to his old self? Rent the movie and find out. Also check out DRAINIAC, which has finally been released.
