This is the best dragon movie since Excalibur, easily. Though it suffers a few plot holes, Reign does offer a unique storyline, plenty of action, and great looking FX. I like the way the existence of the creatures is explained and how they caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Hey, works for me, and sounded a lot better than that dumb asteroid theory. The way in which the progressive destruction of our world is shown through newspapers, TV, and magazine covers shortly after the discovery of a dragon in London impressed me and helped move things forward very nicely (unlike this review). Soon after that dragon's discovery, we are shit out of luck it seems, as civilization is quickly down to its last leg of a few hardy souls eking out an existence in England. Digging and hiding has become a way of life for these few survivors, until one day the ugly American dragon slayers show up led by Matt Mcconaughey. They quickly kill a dragon, impress the locals, and take time out to ridicule the celebration that follows. Basically, the people are divide into the one's that will leave and help fight, some drafted, and those who'll stay and grind it out as the Americans head off planning to kill the King Dragon. Unfortunately, the dragon kicks the attackers asses and flies off to kill the people left behind in hiding, nearly destroying them as well. By the end credits, we see the heroics do the heroic and all is saved. Like I said, great movie, some of the best looking dragons ever on film. My biggest complaint was not seeing enough of them and it needed more multiple dragon attacks. I ignored some obvious blunders in the plot to enjoy the movie. This is 100% better than Dragon Heart!
