The events take place years after the theatrical movie RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE and before RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION. The main character is Claire Redfield, who is a part of special forces to stop the zombie contagion. She pairs up with Leon Kennedy to investigate WilPharma, a pharmaceutical company which claims they are developing a cure for that plague. However, they are developing something very much the opposite. Things get complicated when Claire discovers that her brother is part of a terrorist group--and he becomes infected with a form of the virus, which mutates him into this really nasty creature with a giant eyeball.
The computer animation took me a bit to get used to, though the zombies are creepy and that whole opening scene that takes place with zombies overrunning the airport is impressive, as is the whole battle at the end with the mutant creature.
I would have preferred another live-action movie but as that's unlikely to happen anytime soon, this will do.
