This is one of the better PUPPET MASTER movies, this time another prequel telling how Andre Toulon first acquired the power to animate those puppets. It has to do with an ancient Egyptian sorcerer,Who is being chased by these mummies resurrected by an ancient Egyptian god. This particular god is pissed with the sorcerer for having stolen he secret of life. The movie starts with the older Toulon talking to his puppets, explaining how it all started-then goes to 1902, when he's a young puppeteer practicing his craft in Paris. There, he meets his young wife-to-be, and befriends the sorcerer, who is dying. But before he dies he entrusts his secret to Toulon. The cool thing about this movie are the mummies. Since the trio can't very well travel around in their gray wrappings, they've discarded them and instead wear long trenchcoats and derby's, resembling those creepy characters from the movie DARK CITY. They're more like zombies with reverberating voices than mummies.Toulon, now having the power to put the life force into his creepy looking puppets, uses them to defeat these creatures who are now trying to destroy him.
