This is not one of the better killer rat movies. It started off decent, with a scientist and his assistant working in a lab with cages of rats. They are injecting them with an enzyme that might stop cancer-but a side affect is that it causes the rats to grow in size. When a bunch of the assistant's friends show up, wanting to party, all hell breaks loose. The rats, living in the basement, kill the scientist and the enzyme injected rat grows larger and larger and eventually attacks them. In some shots it's a computer generated rat, in others it's an animatronic puppet that looks more like a teddy bear hamster than a rat. What irritated me was that the story and characters were so predictable. If you want to see a giant rat movie re-rent FOOD OF THE GODS.
