There are good Brian Yuzna movies (RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3, BRIDE OF REANIMATOR, CRYING FREEMAN) and there are bad Brian Yuzna movies (BEYOND REANIMATOR, ARACHNID). Unfortunately, this killer dog movie is in the second category. The story is lame, the acting (except for one person) is bad and the 'Terminator Dog' effects don't match the footage with the live dog that they used. In fact, there's a scene at the end of the movie where the dog's flesh is burned away by fire and he leaps out from the explosion as these moving, steel skeleton. If this was meant to be a spoof of TERMINATOR, that would be okay-it's funny-yet, the rest of the movie is dead serious. The only thing I enjoyed about this whole mess is Paul Naschy's performance as the evil guy-he's great at being the villain. Otherwise, ROTTWEILER is ROTTen.
