Oliver Gruner (NEMESIS) portrays a rancher whose beautiful wife and young son are killed when he refuses to sell his land to a computer billionaire. Two years later we find that he is in a mental institution, catatonic from the trauma. One day he snaps out of it and escapes, to survive out in the wilds of the desert for over a year. During this time he stumbles upon a cavern where there are stone-age pictures that communicate to him-and unlocks an ancient machine that empowers him as the protector of the world, transforming him and giving him the strength of a caveman. It seems that the computer billionaire who had Gruner's family killed is after this same machine, which is a gateway to a virtual reality where an ancient race of man has ascended to. They left their bodies for a higher form of existence. The computer megalomaniac wants to achieve this bodiless state as well. But the last time this gateway to the virtual world was opened it caused the great biblical flood-and the inhabitants of this virtual world don't want this to happen again because this time it might indeed wipe out mankind. So it's up to the newly empowered Gruner to stop him, which, of course, he does. Directed by Avi Nesher.
