Rosalind Leigh (Caroline Goodall), an author, is convinced by her agent to do a book about a murderess named Olive Martin (Pauline Quirke). Her nickname is "The Sculptress" because of the way she dismembered her mother and sister and arranged the various parts. Yet the more Rosalind investigates, the more she becomes convinced that Olive was wrongly accused and is innocent of the crime. The writer tracks down the former detective who arrested the woman-and tries to get him to re-investigate the case, which he is reluctant to do, as he almost passed out when he saw all that carnage years ago. This three-hour UK movie keeps you guessing the outcome until the end.
