Cassie (Britt Robertson) is a sixteen year old girl who moves in with her grandmother , Jane Blake (Ashley Crow of HEROES) after her mother is killed in a household fire. What she doesn't know is that the fire was caused by a witch, Charles Meade, and that he wanted her to move to her mother's home town of New Salem. This is because, as a descendent of one of the six families of witches, she completes a power circle. Once in her new town she meets the others-- a bad girl, a good girl, a potential boyfriend, Adam (Thomas Dekker of THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES). We learn that there are three survivors of the previous cirlce, which include the principle of the high school (Natasha Henstridge of SPECIES I, II), Adam's alcoholic father, and Charles Meade, who turns out to be a lawyer (of course!). Because of some catastrophe that had killed the other three, they were stripped of their powers. Now, because of this new batch of witches, they may somehow be able to get it back.
By the end of the show's second episode, in which Cassie finally agrees to complete the circle, I can see where this is going--along the lines of VAMPIRE DIARIES and TEEN WOLF, which is fine if you're a teenager.
