A high schooler, Casey Noland (Jason Urich), is influenced by a suicidal girl (Lisa Loeb) to become a serial killer. He likes the idea, though he has a hard time dissecting the fetal pig in science class. He thinks that if he practices on older people that he'll get the hang of it-but when he goes to the retirement home to do the deed he's distracted and chickens out. In the meantime, he and the weird chick do a lot of research about serial killers, which leads to Casey improving his grades (serial killers are smart) and dressing differently (serial killers blend in).Casey is also having a difficult time with his gym teacher, Mr. Grimaldi (Thomas Haden Church of DEMON KNIGHT), who constantly belittles him. When Casey writes in his class what he wants to be for a career, he says he wants to be a serial killer. This concerns the teacher, who recommends that Casey see the school psychiatrist. Seeing her enables him to skip his gym class so he readily agrees. While all this is happening there are reports of the serial killer's victims on the news. A local detective thinks it might be Casey and has him watched. Who the serial killer is is surprising. This is an engaging movie, though it doesn't get gory until the last ten minutes or so.Also known as SERIAL KILLING 4 DUMMIES.
