This is much more along the lines of DAWN OF THE DEAD than RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, which is a good thing since I'm tired of the zombie-as-comedy sub-genre that is developing. Deep in the forest, where environmental activists are clashing with the lumber company, people start turning into twitchy yellow zombies. This is from an experimental hormone that's been injected into the trees to make them grow three times faster. A lumberjack gets this in his bloodstream and soon almost everyone is contaminated.
The son of the guy who owns the lumber company is sent out to the island to investigate why they haven't heard from anybody - and he quickly gets caught up on the action as he and a group of human survivors try to get away. They zombie effects are good, there's plenty of blood and a pervading sense of doom throughout. Recommended.
Actress Sarah Lind stands out as the female activist, as she gives a great performance
