This quartet of tales is far more like TWILIGHT ZONE than the pathetic new TWILIGHT ZONE TV series. In one story an obsessive compulsive man tries to explain to his psychiatrist that all the ritual behaviors he performs actually prevent horrible things from happening. When the doctor cures some of his patient's behavior he finds out that he was right after all. In another story a drifter finds himself stalled out in a peaceful town where there is no music. To play music or sing is punishable by death. Why? Because it will summon a creature called THE BEAST, which will go on a murdering rampage and kill everyone. He stands up to them, showing them that it's just a fairy tale-until the creature comes forth. There's also a story called THE MAZE, about missed opportunities, and a deaf woman who undergoes experimental surgery to regain her hearing-and the end result is that she can hear the thoughts of a killer. This was decent.
