Damn good movie making Anthony Hopkins and Hannibal Lecter one in the same for most, thought this wasn't the 1st film to feature the character. Jodi Foster looks hot here, even when smacked in the face with convict cum, and gives a good performance as an FBI agent out to stop a serial killer. This movie gave us all the creeps as the smarter than everyone else Lecter just oozes evil, in while locked in a cell. Though not gory, it does have some startling moments and watching Buffalo Bill do the hide-a-wee-wee dance gets all the more scarier as the years go by. Ending could have been better if you ask me, but hell, the damn thing one an Oscar so what do I know. The whole deal with this movie is watching Hopkins bring the sinister Lecter to life and he really is the movie. You can care two shits less about Buffalo Bill; you wanna see what Lecter will do, how he'll get loose, and what he'll do to agent Starling. It's that simple. I guess I'd call Silence a way cool, above normal average intelligence, cannibal thrill fest. And, let's not forget to give a big thumbs up for Jodi, she looked almost as good here as she did getting gang banged on that pinball machine in The Accused. She once had her own army and made one poor sicko try to shoot Reagan. Now, that's a career!
