The 4th movie is better than the third. I generally don't like the SPECIES series but this one was okay, more of a Frankenstein/mad scientist movie than it really is a Species/Alien movie. Here, Dr. Hollander (Ben Cross of Dark Shadows Revival series) portrays a college professor who reveals to his beautiful blonde niece, Miranda, after she kills a roomful of people, that she's not really his niece. He, and one of his former students (Dominic Keating of ENTERPRISE) created her by combining the alien and human DNA. He had been giving her special injections of human hormones, to subdue her alien characteristics, but they are no longer working. He takes her down to Mexico in hopes of finding his former colleague - and encounters several more of the alien hybrids there.
Helena Mattson as Miranda is a far better actress than Natasha Henstridge. SPECIES #4 is definitely a step in the right direction for this franchise.
