In this made for cable movie Kyle McLachlan and his son, on a vacation in the country, come across a town where the inhabitants do not age. After he falls in love with the local doctor (Allison Eastwood) he learns that the source of the town's youthfullness is a mysterious spring, which also has healing powers. Of course, this sounds like the ideal place to live-and it guarantees that his son will not succumb to cancer as his wife did. But there's a catch--it was decided by the town council that the time limit for a person's life is 100 years. Once they reach that centennial b-day a party is thrown for them--and they're drowned in the waters of the spring. Once McLachlin sees this unsavory aspect of his newly adopted village he wants to leave. With the help of his newfound love, who wishes to stay behind, he does. Not a bad movie, although very similar to Shirley Jackson's THE LOTTERY and the old-age makeups are decent.
