This parody is about a video store clerk named Stan (Steve Howey), who meets up with some friends after work to go to a killer Halloween party. One of the friends is a chubby African-American guy wearing a Superman outfit, one of the women is Stan's hot ex-girlfriend (Diora Baird of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING), and a blonde bimbette. On the way to the party Stan has to drop off some dvd's to the store's owner, which gets them extremely sidetracked. On the way they hit a dog, whose owner vows to kill them all, then almost get hit by a truck, pick up an escaped murderer who is hitching and encounter a weird couple at a gas station. However, the weirdest destination is a town they enter called Stormy Estates, which used to be home to a movie studio before it burned down--and fried everyone in the town. Things become even stranger when they stop into the town's restaurant, where everyone thinks he's Van Helsing, come to save them from the monsters. The waitress of the place is Leslie Nielsen in drag.
I was surprised at how funny this movie is. At the beginning, in the video store, we see people returning THE RING dvd and then dropping dead in a pile of bodies of everyone who rented the fatal movie. And the spoofs of Pinhead, Freddy and Jason are hilarious, as arene Chucky, Leatherface and The Shape. The sense of humor of the movie is along the lines of the SCARY MOVIE films, which makes sense since it's directed by Bo Zenga, the Executive Producer of the first movie of that franchise. Recommended for laugh.
